not every solo traveler is a loner

Not every solo traveler is a loner…

“I love traveling solo because I can do whatever I want, whenever I want.”, I said to one of my newest friends at the pub. “Yes, because you’re a loner”, he answered… That shocked me for a second, because the last thing I am is a loner. On the contrary, I am someone who always makes sure to plan something with friends every weekend. I don’t like being in solitude. So I immediately answered him back by saying that I am not and that there’s a difference between a loner and being independent. That made him think…

Hiking in Slovenia: 6 easy walks you must add to your bucket list

Hiking in Slovenia’s Triglav National Park in the Julian Alps is a must! Slovenia’s nature is so breathtakingly beautiful, it’s a shame not to explore it. Walking through forests along rivers and canyons, guiding you to impressive waterfalls and valleys surrounded by snowcapped mountains; sounds good, doesn’t it? I spent 10 days at the Triglav National Park and even though it rained every day, I still enjoyed all the sights and adventures.

One day in Ljubljana Slovenia

One day in Ljubljana, Slovenia

One day in Ljubljana is just enough to explore the city’s main sights. Even though it’s Slovenia’s capital city, it’s rather small and still one of those undiscovered charming towns in Europe, not yet overrun by tourists. As soon as I arrived and walked through the cosy colorful streets, Ljubljana reminded me of Prague with its lovely bridges, colorful façades and tiny streets.

Photos that will make you want to go to London around Christmas time Part 2

It’s almost becoming a yearly tradition; traveling to London for a weekend in December to soak in the Christmas atmosphere. After all no place in the world does Christmas like London does. The British sure know how to decorate their squares and shopping streets with all the Christmas lights in different shapes like angels, stars, crowns, chandeliers,… and parrots and palm trees at Carnaby Street, even though I don’t really get what they have to do with Christmas.

Ghostwalk in Antwerp, legends & tales

Ghost walking in Antwerp may sound a little strange, but it is actually quite amusing. It is a great way to see Antwerp from a different perspective and get to know the city a little better. Antwerp has a rich cultural history and a lot of legends come with it. The ghostwalk combines a walk around the old city center with ghost tales linked to the legends.

One day at Bohinj Lake, Slovenia

The Bohinj Lake at Slovenia is the prettiest lake of Slovenia, completely surrounded by snow capped mountains, a few cute villages and not overrun (yet) by tourists. I stayed here for 2 nights and if it hadn’t rained the complete first day I probably would’ve done way more like paragliding and taking the cable car to the top of Mount Vogel. But the second day it was sunny and warm so I could really enjoy the beauty of the lake’s surroundings. This is what I suggest to do when you can only spend one day at Bohinj Lake!

My Slovenia road trip at the Julian Alps was probably my best planned ever! I’ve spend just enough time at every place I stayed at to see everything I wanted to explore.

My skydive experience at Skydive Spa, Belgium

Skydiving at Skydive Spa was on my bucket list for a very long time, but for some reason I never actually planned to do it. Maybe because it scared me a little. But after becoming more adventurous by traveling solo, and being at home not having my next trip planned yet, ideas started popping up in my head. I needed more new experiences and adventure in my daily life. And what could be more adventurous than skydiving?
