New York is exhausting because there is so much to see and do, you don’t want to stop walking and exploring. After 3 days of wandering you’re probably tired with soar feet. So I leave the choice to you; if your feet really hurt, you can get a ticket for the hop on hop off tour bus. You can buy a ticket for several days at the beginning of your trip and take the bus in stead of the subway. Special formulas are offered giving you discount to visit several monuments such as Top of the Rock, Empire State Building, Liberty & Ellis Island…
I did this the first time I went to New York and I enjoyed it because they have a downtown, an uptown and a night tour (you can do this one on day 2 to see the sunset at Brooklyn)! Taking the bus you can see all of Manhattan without spending too much energy and you can get off at any stop. You can visit one of the many museums, go shopping some more or revisit a place you liked and want to discover some more. Or maybe you didn’t get to do all the things I described in the 3 previous posts. Then now is the time to catch up! I know the perfect place to spend your last night in the city; Buddakan (75 9th Ave) in the Meatpacking District. This place isn’t cheap, but they have fabulous cocktails and the food is absolutely freaking delicious! Did I mention this place looks fantastic? It’s used in the first Sex and the City movie.
After dinner you can stroll around the Meatpacking District or get some more cocktails (after all it’s the last night) at 230 Fifth (230 5th Ave); an amazing rooftop bar that gives you a wonderful view of the Empire State Building and the other skyscrapers.
The final day of your stay. At the end you’re probably thinking things like “I wish I did this” or “I should’ve bought the other one too”. Now is the time to still go for it! Because today you will be leaving and once back on the plane it will be too late! Or maybe you had a day with really bad weather and you weren’t able to take the Staten Island Ferry or visit the top of the Empire State Building.
I consider the last day as the spare time you need to complete what you wanted to get, do or see. But I’m sure you’ll return one day. Because once you’ve been in New York, you’ll be hooked forever and you will always feel the urge to return!
